All International applicants must meet the English
language requirement of the College to be eligible to be offered
a place of study. Applicants whose first language is not English
must have a standard of written and spoken English that will enable
them to benefit fully from their course of study and must be able
to provide recent evidence that their spoken and written command
of the English language is adequate for the programme for which they
have applied. This requirement is specified in order to ensure that
the academic progress of students is not hindered by language difficulties
and that students are able to integrate socially while studying at
NLC and living in the UK.
International applicants who do not meet the requirements
are required to either.
- complete an approved qualification in English Language with
acceptable scores; or
- register for a program which will include the Pre-Sessional
English Foundation Course
NLC officially recognises IELTS and Pearson
Test of English (PTE) Academic scores to assess the applicants English
Language ability. We may also accept scores from other internationally
recognised testing organisations on application.
The required evidence should be included
with the completed application. The acceptable English Language assessment
score for International Students is -
Students who do not satisfy the requirement will
be offered admission along with the Pre-Sessional English Foundation
Course for a duration of 6 Months, on completion of which,
they will progress on to the main course. Students will still have
to gain minimum scores of IELTS
5.0 or PTE Academic 38 to be eligibile
to enrol on the Pre-Sessional English Foundation Course
