English Language Courses
All International applicants must meet the English language requirements of the College to be eligible to be offered a place. Applicants whose first language is not English must have a standard of written and spoken English that will enable them to benefit fully from their course of study and must be able to provide recent evidence that their spoken and written command of the English language is adequate for the programme for which they have applied. This requirement is specified in order to ensure that the academic progress of students is not hindered by language difficulties and that students are able to integrate socially while studying at NLC and living in the UK. The required evidence should, if possible, be included with the completed application. If either unsatisfactory or no evidence of English language proficiency has been provided with the application, admission will be conditional upon the provision of such evidence. This condition will be clearly indicated on the offer letter and must be fulfilled before enrolment at NLC. Students whose first language is not English must demonstrate that they can cope with the language, and they can do so by following one of two options: Option 1: No further courses in English Language required. The required evidence may take the form of either: In order to be eligible for admission to any program at NLC without English Foundation Programme requirement, all international applicants are required:
Option 2: You may be required to take courses in English Language. International applicants who do not meet the requirements stated in Option 1 are required.
