Advice & Guidance

New London College offers an impartial, confidential Careers Advice and Guidance, which is available free of charge to students of all ages, current & prospective, local & international. The service is available to anyone who wants to find out more about career options and the wide range of educational opportunities and qualifications. Equality to all the students, whatever ethnic background they belong to, is the principle of NLC.

To ensure your stay in London and your studies at New London College are as enjoyable as they are useful, we offer a range of welfare services & facilities. A member of staff is always available to offer information, advice and guidance on a range of issues. We especially ensure that our younger, more vulnerable students are assisted in every possible way to ensure that their study at New London College is both enjoyable and safe.

The service offers advice and support to help you to:

  • Decide about your education, career, and/or other plans
  • Choose the most suitable option for you from a wide range of courses
  • Develop your job search techniques - including help with CVs and interview techniques


Student Advisers
offer individual advice to students on practical matters such as awards, fees, immigration, legal matters and money management. The Student Advisers also produce a wide range of information sheets covering most aspects of student entitlements, including information on loans and awards; postgraduate funding; Income Tax and National Insurance; Home Office procedures; entitlements of EEA, EU and International students.  These are available at the Reception. 

Our advisors are on hand to help you choose the right course to meet your needs. An appointment system enables you to book a confidential interview and we offer a drop-in service for quick enquiries.


International Student Advice: The International Student Adviser (ISA) provides information, support and advice to international students at the College. Following are the services that the College and the ISA provide for the International Students.

  • The College organises a orientation programme for new international students
  • The ISA organises a social programme for international students, gives practical advice on language and study skills support and is available to give general help and advice to international students.  
  • Student advisers offer individual advice to students on practical matters such as awards, fees, immigration, legal matters and money management.  
  • The ISA is also able to help with emotional problems and issues relating to culture shock such as missing home

There are a number of information sheets for International Students which are available from the Reception. The Student Advisers also produce a wide range of information covering most aspects of student entitlements, including information on loans and awards; postgraduate funding; Income Tax and National Insurance; Home Office procedures; entitlements of EEA, EU and International students. These are available from the Reception.
